THis month began with MOTHERS DAY! Its so neat as the years go by to watch this special holiday evolve as the children grow. This year I got a hand made beaded necklace from Matthew that he made at school! It was JUST BEAUTIFUL! Jonny drew me a card and showed me the flowers on them. They also made me breakfast in bed! They both made me a JELLY SANDWICH! Yum! Michael said that as they get older the breakfast's will get better :0) It was THE MOST DELICIOUS Jelly sandwiches I had ever tasted! Michael got me GORGEOUS WHITE TULIPS that took my breath away! He knows that tulips are my absolute favorite flower of all time and they always bloom in the spring! Because we live in HI I see tulips as a very exotic flower but on the mainland they are quite common. I first fell in love with them on my mission. At the Provo Temple they have rows and rows of different colored tulips!
This month also brought Jonny's 3rd birthday! And in our house that means the very 1st haircut! His hair was soooo long and curly that Michael and I were dreading cutting it. But its almost like a right of passage so after his SUPER MAN party! We went down to pig tails and crew cuts to chop it all off. Did I cry? OF COURSE I CRIED! He was such a trooper. He sat still the whole time and just let the Stylist do her thing! He had such a great day! He looks very very grown up now and Michael and I are sad that we don't have babies anymore! They are growing up so quick we hardly know what to do with ourselves!
Speaking of growing up I got to chaperon a field trip for Matthew's class to the elementary school he will be attending! That is another milestone for our family, Matthew will be graduating from preschool this year! So sad right! Anyway the field trip was loads of FUN! Never realized that you have to walk really REALLY slow when your trying to get 20 four year old's down one side walk! It was hilarious and sometimes nerve racking trying to keep them out of the rain and in a strait line but we survived and Matthew feels more comfortable with the idea of going to the "BIG KIDS" school!
Michael is currently working on 3 campaigns for this election season! He totally loves being involved in the legislative process and is thinking about doing it long term.
K.I.T.S. is moving in the right direction! Still getting the word out and trying to educate the community and get kits into the right hands! Having a steady full time job allows me to be risky in my small business because I have a steady income flow and benefits that I'm not going to loose so I can push all of my ideas for K.I.T.S. without having to worry.
Really trying to plan a weekend to go to Kona and visit the Temple. In DESPERATE NEED of the strength that only comes when inside that holy place!
Really proud of Kathryn and Mike for getting A BEAUTIFUL NEW place! Loved having a little gathering there last week! They are a great couple finding the joys of independence! It reminds me of those first years of our marriage. Our apartment was small but it was ours and we answered only to each other! Doesn't seem like such a big deal but it was very LIBERATING! We walked every where and had so much fun together! Learned a lot about each other that we didn't know before some good things and some things that needed getting used too. I won't forget our root beer floats every single night for the first 6 months or how we often got caught in the rain walking to ward center from our apartment, the very late nights at Don Quixote, and Michael introducing me to Barbra Streisand early films like Funny Girl and The Way We Were. Those memories of the early days are priceless to me and have helped cement our marriage in ways I didn't think possible. I thought we were super in love before we were married but in the 6 years since September 11th 2004 our bond is stronger, our love is deeper, and our commitment more solid then I ever thought possible. Michael is my life and he completes me!
We are so excited to see what June will bring!

Life at the Moment
Just celebrated Michael's 30th birthday! That was interesting to say the least but a blast non the less! The week before we got to see a bunch of our friends from the Institute Branch where Michael and I first met! Its always wonderful to reconnect with them. Matthew recently had an endoscopy done to figure out why he has recurrent regurgitation :0( that was not fun! But we did find out that he has some irritated stomach and esophagus issues that we are addressing with Zantax and Mylanta. His eczema is still not healing completely. Totally frustrated with that. As soon as it looks like its starting to heal he scratches cause he's only four and I'm pulling out my hair trying not scold him too much for his very natural reaction. Its like a vicious cycle over here! Other then that he is a healthy, happy, and smart four year old. Jonny is doing great and is hilarious. He can sit with me at the piano and sing a long as I play "I Love to See the Temple" and knows all the words to "Sweet Caroline" both of them seem to be musically inclined.
Inherited a Story and Clark piano this month from our friend Aaron! LOVE IT! I finally can practice every day and play all the old Young Women songs from my teenage years! Ah the Memories!
10 Year High School reunion is in 2 weeks! I can't believe its been 10 years! I feel really old and kinda scared but mostly EXCITED!
K.I.T.S. just launched its first every email campaign! WoooHooo for technology! Loving it. Using it to replace our monthly tips sent out to kitsklub members! Big Shout out to mailchimp.com for making current technology so simple!
Still processing Sister Beck's Saturday Morning Conference talk. Learned A LOT about women hood in those 10 minuets... and also lots about how I need to improve. I feel a deep yearning to stay at home with my babies. I feel like I could be such a better mom if I had the time while they were in school to do all the house work. I know that we are working towards that goal. I truly feel that K.I.T.S. will be that avenue in which I can do that.
Praying for inspiration and patience....

Exciting week
I'm Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited about this week because there are two things coming up that are BIG for our company K.I.T.S. On Wednesday I have an meeting with a gentlemen from Hawaii State Civil Defense to see how we can help care home operators in Hawaii be better prepared for disasters. Then on Friday there is the Caregivers Coalition at the Capital. That one is great because its the first time we will have a table at the event! Thanks to all the help from my Mentors I have chosen to focus on the Senior arm of K.I.T.S. and I think that this is the direction it needs to go in.
As always Michael is SUPER supportive. I couldn't have been more blessed in choosing him as my husband. He supports and loves me and my kookiness unconditionally and truly lets me fly my kite. Thank Heaven for Husbands!

Haiti Earthquake
I feel so much sadness over the chaos and loss in Haiti. I can't help but wonder had more families been prepared how many lives would have been spared and people helped. It puts K.I.T.S. so much more at the forefront of my mind. Getting out there and teaching people how to prepare their families when natural or man made disasters occur is our top priority. I felt really helpless when I saw all the footage of the aftermath and thought gosh look at all those people who needed the things we provide. How many babies had to go with out diapers, wipes, and formula? How many seniors didn't have access to their medications or a plan to get the medical treatments like Chemotherapy or dialysis they so desperately need? There is so much good we can and need to do. With our busy schedules and Michael's new job I have put time for K.I.T.S. pretty low on the priority list. After watching images of the people suffering in Haiti my resolve to dedicate more time and efforts to K.I.T.S. has been solidified. We can and will help others get the peace of mind of being prepared for these unexpected events.
