Matthew's 5th Birthday-2010

Dear Matthew,
Today was your 5th birthday! We started the morning at Pancakes and Waffles for breakfast! You had Strawberry Pancakes, while Jonny and I had Strawberry Waffles. And of course we all had hot chocolate!

After a Yummy breakfast we went to buy your birthday cake! Because your favors were Spiderman Themed I figured you would want that kind of birthday cake as well but when we got to Delight Bakery you wanted the Bakugan cake! So that is what you got!

Then we got home to get ready for your party! This year you decided that you wanted to have your celebration at the movie theaters! So mommy and daddy planned a movie party at Ward Theaters! We invited 4 of your friends. Pearce Phillips, Kiai, and Kaimalu Saturnal, and Coby Kintaro! In addition to your friends both Lily and Jonathan were there! Grandma Joy, Pops, Aunty Jenny, and Kuuipo were there as well! We had hot dogs, pop corn, and juice. We saw the movie "Tangled" and were amazed that all the kids behaved so well! After the movie all your friends parents came and got them and we went home to rest before our family came over for dinner!

It is a tradition in our family that we celebrate each birthday with a family dinner. The family member who's birthday it is gets to choose what kind of food we will eat. You chose Pizza! All of your family members were in attendance and we had a wonderful time! We sang happy birthday too you and opened all your presents! This year you got lots of new clothes, Bakugan Battle figures, and a Camera! You were a very happy boy!

Matthew this year has been so exciting for you! You graduated from preschool, started kindergarten at Kapalama Elementary School, and are expecting a new baby brother! You had some difficulty adjusting to kindergarten but you were only 4yrs old and after a little time you are doing much better! Everyone at your school knows your name and you have lots of friends. You also gave another solo in the primary presentation in church this past year! You knew all the words and were able to follow the piano. You sang all three verses of "Follow The Prophet" and were excellent. At Papa Dx's suggestion we started seeing a tutor. "Aunty Robin" has really helped you learn letter sounds and pre reading skills. She also has helped with your fine motor skills. Her tutelage really helped build a good foundation for your academics.

Matthew We love that you are so excited to be a big brother again and ask lots of questions about the process. Your excitement and happiness help Bear accept this change and feel excited about it as well! He will always follow your lead and help you along in life so rely on him. We are excited to see what this year brings our family! We love you so much and love to see you grow.

Love Mom and Dad
